Poem and Translation
Gaeilge English
An ráth, taobh leis an doire, The fort beside the oak grove
ba le Bruadar é, ba le Cathal, was Bruadar’s, was Cathal’s
ba le Aedo, ba le Ailiill, was Aedo’s, was Cuilin’s,
ba le Connain, ba le Cuilin, and it was Máel Dúin’s,
agus ba le Máel Dúin. One by one, the kings sleep in the earth
Ins an ráth chaith gach rí a ré. and the fort still endures.
Duine ar dhuine tá siad faoin gcré,
ach maireann an ráth.
